From Start To Finish

A large home improvement project can be a very stressful undertaking. Bel Air Construction’s proven process alleviates many of the common stresses of remodeling and ensures that you have clear communication from start to finish. We are committed to delivering both a distinctive design and a distinctive remodeling experience.

Here is a general idea of what to expect when working with Bel Air Construction:

1. Discovery Meeting

Purpose: An initial conversation to learn about your goals, lifestyle, and space.

  • Held via phone, Zoom, or at our Design Center & Showroom
  • We focus on listening: your goals, frustrations, dreams, and timeline
  • Understand your home’s story, your family dynamic, and any upcoming events
  • Explore your inspiration (Pinterest, HGTV, Houzz)
  • Share creative ideas and industry insights
  • Begin early budget expectations (no commitments yet!)

Why not in your home? We want to stay focused on your big-picture vision, not just the walls in front of us. Our Design Center & Showroom gives us tools, samples, and space to imagine without distraction.

2. Site Visit

Purpose: A detailed documentation of your space.

  • For interiors: We take measurements and photos onsite
  • For exteriors: We use Hover technology to create accurate 3D models
  • Still no obligation or payment at this stage
  • Everything we gather informs your design and options

3. Design Meeting

Purpose: A no-cost, no-obligation meeting to review your project vision and budget.

  • Held in our Design Center & Showroom
  • Introduce our team, process, and tools (like BuilderTrend)
  • Provide a ballpark budget based on your goals
  • If aligned, a retainer (typically $10K-$25K) transitions you to the design phase. The entire retainer is applied to the project costs or project total.

4. Design Phase

Purpose: Collaborative design and selection process tailored to your goals.

Interior Designer:

  • Visits your home to understand lifestyle and context
  • Guides you through inspiration boards and selections (cabinets, tile, flooring, etc.)
  • 95% of choices are typically made in a single showroom meeting

CAD Designer:

  • Builds a 3D version of your current space
  • Prepares 2-3 realistic design options using your selections
  • You interact live with designs—move walls, adjust features, and see pricing updates in real-time

5. Pre-Construction Conference

Purpose: A final alignment meeting before construction begins.

  • Held at your home with your Designer and Project Manager
  • Review scope, drawings, expectations, start times, materials, and schedules
  • Everything is clarified upfront—no surprises later

6. Construction Begins

Purpose: The exciting part—your vision takes shape!

  • BuilderTrend used to share daily logs, photos, and updates
  • Materials are pre-ordered and stored on-site to avoid delays
  • You can comment directly on project updates
  • Payment is split into stages (start, progress, completion)
  • We end with a full walkthrough, professional cleaning, and a 5-Year Warranty
